what are the rules on griefing in the resources world? I've been told many different things by different staff members and I would like a definitive answer. some say there is no rules against griefing in the resources world, and others say there is. what is it?

There are none in the resource world.
The only rules in the resource world is to not make intentional deathtraps with the intent of killing and stealing from other players.

Chests and constructs can be done with as you wish.

thank you, I was told by mods last night that you can't do that. so you guys may want to retrain some of the newer mods about this. they threatened to ban people over it

Well the main thing is that while it is allowed in the resource world, we would rather it not happen, as it complicates people mining patterns and comfort ability in the resource world.

Also, people can grief it, and you might not want people stealing stuff you worked on....

Eh, just curious, but...

I remember making a HUGE and OBVIOUS Pit o' Flamin' Death. Is this not allowed? (Even if I place tons of warning signs?)

No this would not be allowed since this would fit under the "intentional deathtrap" term wirelesspillow mentioned. so if you can find it again please remove it.
when in doubt presume it's not allowed for now.

This was a long time ago Ryuuga. Lol. xD The world has been reset dozens of times since.

plus, a big gap in the ground is not really a deathtrap.

So me making an open pit is ok? I'm not gonna make it close to a spawn point.... it will be somewhere far out.
