When a new player joins the server, they should have the option to add their birthday to their profile in game. If a person that has added their birthday logs in on their birthday, then they should be greeted with a Happy Birthday message instead of the usual welcome. Also this message should be available on days like New Years, Christmas, etc.

Sounds good, however someone could set an incorrect date...

for example, today is the 26th December, lets say my birthday was the 1st December, I don't want to wait another year for the server to gift me etc. so I could set my birthday to be 28th December, and get a gift/whatever we would give for it.

That is very true and I'm very glad that you saw this. However, the person should not get a gift, just be greeted with a Happy Birthday. I think that if people are mature enough to enter the correct date and if they had the option to put in the year, then when they apply for something like a guide, it would be easy to tell how mature they are by judgeing it by their age. I have personally met very unmature people and later found out that they were in their late teens. I just thought it would be easy if that information was easily accesible. Thank you for your time.

Sorry if I revived an old topic, but what if when they added their birthday, it would be auto-locked to it. Unchangable if you will. Seems legit the idea, but you have a good point Jack.

I think you can actually do that, when you connect that Birthday plugin to the forums database.

okay add birth year yes? I.e. I'm 12 but I write down 1957 so I'm 55-ish and VERY mature then but if you autolock it and don't give presents it should be okay though. If we still want to give gifts we could simply give everyone gifts on certain holidays I.E. on christmas eve.

But that goes back to Jacks point, I could be 18 and change my birthday every month so I could be 18 or higher.
