Hey all,

As you may or may not know, when the clan system is released in HotS, we will be limited to 50 people in the clan at any time. Now this has raised discussion among the community, Jack and I to decide how we will approach this. Being a chilled out community we do not want to take the outlook of "best players get in". We're not looking to be a competitive team with the best of the best, instead we are looking for maximum fun!

So, to make things as fair and fun as possible, upon the creation of the clan at the beginning of HotS, we will be opening a new application process. Your application to the clan will be evaluated on a few things (note: these are not set in stone, and are subject to change).

  • Experience with the rest of the clan - We are ultimately looking for friendly, active players that fit in with the clan. The clan will be aimed to achieve regular play, discussion and entertainment. We want to ensure everyone can play well together and get along. We're not looking for drama or talking behind backs etc. So there will be some form of requirement to ensure you've been actively playing with the clan. So we can reach a fair and complete decision.
  • Dedication to the game and community - We are not looking to exclude anyone from playing with us. People in the clan may find at times they are given responsibility to aid with running of the over all SLAP StarCraft community. This will be decided upon as we go further down the line and move into things more, but we'll really be looking for people that we feel are both dedicated to enjoying the game, just as much as helping the community achieve a steady and healthy growth.
  • Interaction with other communities - We feel it is very important to encourage cross community interaction and socializing. At the same time we also respect the right for other communities to run how they wish. The application process with have some form of requirement that will allow other communities to have their say. Example: If you have come (say for instance) the Minecraft community are branching out into the StarCraft community, upon posting your application we will ask for input form other CL's or CM's. I personally, and the rest of the community, feel it is important that we encourage fair and fun play. This will mean for example, if you have had multiple kicks or bans on other servers / communities, this will cast a shadow over your application.

The points above are subject to change / additional information. For now this is all the information that will be released and if you have any questions or suggestions you should reply to this thread. The StarCraft community is dedicated to having clean and healthy fun with the occasional cheese tactics. We are not looking to exclude anyone from play, and we will always be playing across the community.
Play and interaction will NOT be limited to just the in game clan. This is to be treated as more of an inner circle for those that have proved and shown their dedication, and are very active.
