Go pick up something off the shelf. Most computers are powerful enough to run anything these days. That is what I did and I run everything at top quality.

you could make your own i7 for less than a grand, if you don't know how to build pc's i would suggest a Make your own PC website or something like that. they build them alot cheeper than the stuff you buy of the shelves. and you get more flexibility.

And i highly recommend you don't get the yogscast PC, i have found a pc thats better than that on amazon for £800.

If you are planning to mainly play games on your pc, you will be completely fine just using an i5 instead of an i7. Also, I can recommend an amd 7870, as it's cheap but still powerful.

If you are actually willing to spend up to £1000 on a computer then i would get an i7 computer. an i7 giving you look after it well, will last you a very long time and will be more beneficial in the future. if you go for i5's or lower later on they will bring out software and hardware that you might want, but don't have the specs to run it. so if you want it you will have to upgrage your pc anyway. i have actually had to do this, and it's very annoying.
But it's up to you, thats just what i would do if i was to spend that kind of money on a pc. it's just im recommending you get a high spec i7 if you are planning on keeping the pc for a long time.
a long time being like over 5 years

I'd build my own personally but it's a pain in the behind if you need it there and built immediately.

Yea thats a pretty good pc for it's money.

bear in mind it doesen't have an Operating System so you will have to buy and install that your self. It also doesen't say what sata the hard drive is. if it's a sata 1/2 then it's not worth getting. a sata 3 is good but if you are going for a i7 then i would suggest a PC with a sshd or ssd drive. They have a much higher transfer rate, so they will be much quicker.

    Personaly, i would suggest this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/ANKERMANN-Wi...7+computer+ssd

£200 more but defo worth it.

the prossesor has 4 cores + 8 hyper threads so it's basicly like a 8 core, just with 4 cores. graphics is GDDR5 insted of DDR3, 16GB DD3 ram instead of 8. It has a OS . And the hard drive is defo Sata 3, couldent find any PC's with sshd or ssd :/,

Uh... well no not really. It is indeed called hyperthreading, where 1 core handles 2 threads simultaneously. According to wikipedia this gives about a 30% performance increase, so it's definitely not the same as having 8 cores (besides some other disadvantages that hyperthreading has).
I think all i7s have hyperthreading, the one that horsegal linked definitely has it. According to the specs listed for both CPUs the one that horsegal linked is actually faster, only a tiny difference though, 3.4 GHz/ 3.5 GHz

Personally I wouldn't go for 16GB ram. I have 8 right now and I've only reached my max once (and that was when some people went crazy on my tekkit server while I also had 20 chrome tabs & a tekkit client & 3 mc clients & bukkit server etc., you get the point ).

As far as the other parts go I'm not sure what is better. Comparing nvidia to ATI cards is pretty much impossible besides looking at benchmarks ;3

Like tropicz already said, the one horsegal linked doesn't have any info about the hard drive. Since it's a 2tb one I'd be suprised if it isn't sata3, but not mentioning a version number or manufacturer is weird :/
So yeah... I just made the choice even more difficult xD

    Edit:
Horsegals ATI card seems to cost around 80 euros, while the nvidia card costs just under 200. Although ATI does generally have a better price/performance ratio, I expect the nvidia card to be significantly better (I wasn't able to find any benchmarks of the 2GB version of the ATI card, so can't be 100% sure)

According to benchmarks (of which one probably rather unreliable, youtube video :l), with bf3 at ultra settings the ATI card gets 15 - 30 fps and the nvidia card around 50

Tropiczs pc seems to be significantly better. Better GPU, more RAM, HDD which is at least equally good, CPU which is pretty much the same.
The 200 extra euros are deffo worth it for the much better GPU & windows 7 license.
