Tutorial: Teamspeak3 Setup

Hello and Welcome to the TeamSpeak Tutorial!

Due to the recent connectivity and performance issues we have experienced with our Ventrilo host, we have decided to migrate to another voice coms piece of software, TeamSpeak. We will now host our own TeamSpeak server, therefore eliminating issues with an external hosting company.

I will now show you how to set up a connection to our Public TeamSpeak Server.

First download Teamspeak3 here: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads
After installing it, open it.
Here's the logo:

And this is what TeamSpeak looks like after opening it for the first time.

Follow these simple 5 steps to connect to the Slap Gaming Public TeamSpeak Server:

Click Connections
Click Connect
Server address: server.slapgaming.com
Nickname: Add your Minecraft username/Steam Username/Community Nickname
Click Connect

You will now be connected to the TeamSpeak Server!



TeamSpeak sounds and behaves a lot differently to our old voice coms software, Ventrilo.
Personally, I have gotten use to the Ventrilo sound effects for when people leave/join/message me etc. etc.
On TeamSpeak you can get custom sound packs for these events, including a Ventrilo soundpack!
If you are like me and prefer Ventrilo sounds, click this link (http://addons.teamspeak.com/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=att_download&link_id=179&cf_id=24) and run the installer. Then re-launch TeamSpeak and you will have a new soundpack!
If you are fine with the TeamSpeak sounds, then leave it the way it is! :D

Make sure the "Eye Icon" in your menu bar is green like this:

Otherwise you wont be able to see people in other channels

Is there also a Youtube lounge? I really appreciate if there is. So we can make youtube videos and talk to someone. (I don't like if everyone haves my private Skype) ;)

I have it like that stoux and i dont have perms for subscribing :S that maybey a effect of the testing we have done or its not in the group perms so i cant seen peepz.
I also get and error that i don’t have the permissions. i guess it has to do with the max no. off channels im allowed to subscribe to or something like that. The error is about subscribed channels max reached will get the full error tonight

It's the same button Leon the default is Ctrl but you can change it :)

Why not have a look on YouTube especially about Macs, there may be something else that you have to do mabey?? But I won't know because I don't have a mac...

I'm trying move around on the team speak server and it wont work... I'm stuck in the lobby and when trying to change room it says 'insufficient permissions' I can't figure out how to fix this and I have attached a photo below :D Thanks

I've been in the lobby for a bit now and I can hear people joining and leaving the lobby, it seems I can only see people within my own room thing. I noticed how i haven't got the green eye on, but when i click it it says insufficient permissions.

The person who gave you the permissions & groups messed up. Message a Server admin (Me, Honkin, Jack) when you're on TS (or MC).
