.: What is Arthen? :.

- Arthen is the new land being created right this very moment, trying to bring to you - the player - the best experience of minecraft, all in one place.

- Located in the pre 1.6 area of planet s!ap, this kingdom has been in development for over 9 months, but generating quite a little interest among my s!appers. We have been working in a sort of secret way, and not many people have known about the place, but now we wish to share the news upon you.

- The land of Arthen will become the number one destination for people in s!ap gaming. BUT ENOUGH TALK NOW, I know you are eager to know, what is Arthen exactly? This is a place where crafters from all around s!ap will be able to live in one area, a kingdom, which we are hoping to become a huge capital. In Arthen, you will find games, such as archery, where you will be able to game against other people to win prizes! The place is also home to many real estate locations- er, towns, where you will be able to live with other people in the countryside. We will allow you to live in pre-made buildings or create some of your own (BIGGER PLOTS THAN REGULAR SLAP PLOTS). All in all, we are a clan, an area to live in, to enjoy. Players will be able to experience the full joy of minecraft in this way. Helping other players in their progress, through obvious, word of mouth helping, or giveaways EVERY WEEK which all players in Arthen will be able to partake in to be in the chance to get some great goodies! :diamond: :diamond:

- We are also hoping to become a PvP clan when we generate some interest, but that is for later. Now, scroll down to see what awaits...

.: History of Arthen :.

- Since October 2012, Myself: MohDaol and Mazad45, began working on a small side project in the far reaches of s!ap. At that time, we had no idea what we were making, what I was going to do with it, and what I was doing it for. All I knew is that we wanted SOMETHING. And something it was...

- Fast forward to December 2012, at that time, we were putting the finishing touches on my grand build, the palace, made for us and us only (That was in the past though, now the rules have changed) But then we realized: "Er, doesn't that palace look kinda awkward alone like that?" So then we started building a kingdom around it! we knew it would be hard, but we were determined to do it!

- 2013 now! The "Future"! we finally had a bunch of buildings around the palace. Then the thought struck us: Why not make a kingdom... A sort of haven... where people can come to live, make shops, houses, a life here... And so Arthen came to be... and I have been working on it ever since.

- And now that i'm done with that, I would like to confirm that non-staff member access to the kingdom is not allowed yet until the kingdom is open, but you can make an application now to have early access into the land! Please follow these steps right here to apply!

-First off, i'm sure many of you will be wondering when the kingdom will open. This checklist here shows the amount of progress finished starting from posting this. Be Aware​ that the checklist will be constantly added to, so don't think of this as a definitive to when we open up

.: Attractions :.

- We don't want arthen to be a regular, boring city. We have high hopes for it, and we have included many different attractions to spice things up. Here is a list of the attractions we have going, and some we plan to add in very soon!

- Fantasia archery: A small, non-themed archery range with some tough challenges. This isn't your regular archery though, we threw some new things into the mix, some things I don't want to spoil just yet :) We will have many archery competitions here, with great prizes!

- The Globe: The Globe is a huge project we will work on very soon. It is a huge globe inside of the ocean. What for? We haven't decided yet, but we have two different ideas for it: 1- A festive area, for things such as halloween etc. Where we create games to accommodate the season. OR 2- themed PvP arena, that constantly changes depending on the season. For example, earth day, the pvp will be lush and full of trees to hide behind or even in. With our PvP, givebacks will be a MUST.

- The Expert Ranges: For those that earn a First, second, or third ranking in our Fantasia competitions, they will be able to partake in The Expert Ranges. Unlike Fantasia, the archery in this area will be THEMED. We are not sure whether we want to have competitions here, or to just have it as a fun place to try out your expert archery skills. Will be located at TGS (See below)

-The stealth shaft: This is a small and short minigame in which players travel through a mineshaft shooting mannequins of enemies and shooting redstone lamp targets. The goal is to find and hit all the lamps and mannequins, beware though, finding them wont be easy!

.: PROJECT HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD AND MAY COMPLETELY CHANGE FROM IT'S ORIGINAL DESIGN :.



-The Casino: This area will include weekly lucky numbers, and slot machines. Will be located at TGS (See below)

- TGS: This place is one of the most important attractions in the kingdom, though not an attraction itself. TGS: Which stands for The Game Station, will be CONSTANTLY updated with new areas, and those areas will be CONSTANTLY updated. At the moment, we have 2 plans for TGS, with many more to come. Those are: The Expert Ranges and The Casino (See above for both)

- Unlike the checklist, here is where I will detail some of the already built things before making this thread!

-Palace: Central hub. Directions given here. Entarnce to TGS: Which will contain the expert ranges and casino. Entrance to the Globe
-Blacksmith: Will become an ore shop
-Barracks: Contains the stealth practice facility. Will contain armour and weapons shop
-Enchanting house: Self explanatory
-Cathedral: Plans for the cathedral is to include the head and name of people who donated/helped out in the early beginnings of Arthen
-Airships: Only accessable by me. For design
-Brewery: Plans to contain a brewing shop
-Boat: It's a boat. For design
-Fantasia Archery: Beginners archery. Competitions will be held. See "Attractions" above
-Stables: Buy and sell horses here
-BabyDoggyShadow's Village: A nice place that members can live in

This section will not be updated, because, as it says, these are the buildings created before I made this thread. A new section will be made later to show what new things have been added. Also, these new things will be added to the checklist for completion

.: Membership info :.

Hey there, I just wanted to take some time to write about being a member of Arthen:

-First of all, a quick clear up: Builders may apply for the kingdom, however they won't be able to partake in many events because of builder limitations. They can, however, easily become a member for free, so that's no problem

-Now for the main part. Every member of the kingdom (Excluding staff) MUST own either a mailbox, or a house. Let me get into houses first:

-For the houses, you must pay the land owner BabyDoggyShadow a measly fee of 11$ To own a house. The houses themselves won't blow you away, but they have their own special charm. The houses are medium sized, can accommodate quite a large amount of chests, furniture, etc., and are two stories high. If you no longer want a house, or no longer want to be part of the kingdom, then you get paid a return fee of 50$. All houses come with a mailbox, and if you don't want/can't own a house, you can get a mailbox for free at the Post Office.

-Now, let me explain mailboxes:

-Mailboxes are located either outside your house, or at the post office if you don't want to own a house. They are completely FREE. Mailboxes will be /cdonation to you, which means that you can TAKE and PLACE items in the mailbox, but anyone else can only PLACE items in there. The mailboxes will be used to send you the latest news on Arthen, Competition prizes, weekly lucky number prizes, and more to come.

- And a last note:


.: DO NOT STORE YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS IN YOUR MAILBOX. IF THE MAILBOX IS FULL FOR 3 DAYS, YOU WILL NOT BE SENT THE ITEMS/NEWS! :.

got a weird question maybe. where in pre 1.6 is this kingdom (can you give coordinates maybe)? I can't seem to find and/or confirm where arthen is :S people might kinda want to know that :P

Not sure if I said it before, but we don't really want people entering and seeing everything right now. As of now, there are many unfinished things there. We will post pictures and videos of things in the kingdom once we feel comfortable releasing them. Also, i'm waiting for GLSL shaders to update to 1.6.2 :P

Since you're a mod: If you want, I can PM you the coords. I'm sure you've seen the place before with modreq's and such though :P

Been a while since i've updated, so here's an update!

We have been working hard on making the expert archery ranges, we'll showcase that later on!
Fantasia archery is all but finished! Expect a video VERY soon!
A lot of polishing has been done. We got our second four layer beacon! We are working on the third beacon hub

I will include an update changelog on the original post soon, easy to know what has been done recently!
We are working on making directions, not easy!

Also (I can't get the quoting to work >.< EDIT ryuuga: fixed quote for you :D) Ryuuga has answered madkiller. I just want to add one more thing to that: only Arthen staff will be allowed in the. We have seperate wg's for shop's, for the shop owners. And if they grief the shop? well, as ryuuga said, they get banned/warned

Also, another update that will occur in the post: The names of all the awesome people who helped make this project happen by donating, helping, or just giving support, will be listed in the first post. Their names and player heads (If I can get a hold of them :P) Will be displayed either in the palace or cathedral. Probably cathedral, since it's the only building without a purpose yet.

First off: Running a shop in Arthen? That could be organized for when it opens :D I just need to know what type of shop you want to own.
Second: Sorry, but, the only people who are allowed to build in Arthen (Excluding player made houses in towns) are close friends of mine on the server or irl who I have hand picked to contribute to this project. The staff list on the thread is going to stay as it is, no more additions. So sorry, but we have a really specific way of building here and we want it to be just like we imagined it :)
