Minecraft freezes completely when trying to log into the server

So here's the story. A new player joined the server and I wanted to follow him, but then all of the sudden, I tried to come looking for him after having stepped on a pad that took me into the Christmas Event area. When I walked far enough, everything froze.

For some odd reason, I get only one frame every two minutes which means it's impossible to teleport back home since I can't open the chat bar, nor can I move forward one block. I've tried things that didn't help at all which was removing any resource packs that wasn't default, using Minecraft 1.7.2 exactly, and checking to see if problems were occurring in single player, but no problems doing that.

I'd like to be teleported back to the spawn as there's nothing I can do about this bug. I was only in the Christmas Event area for assumingly thirty seconds which wasn't enough time to remember what the event area looked like.

I have the exact same problem! can't move can't tp back to spawn

Do you guys get the same problem if you join one of you single player worlds or when you join any other server? I'm wondering if its your client or the server (or both) making this problem :)

You are both in almost the same spot (Creative world, Christmas event spawn), not sure what's going on since no one else is experiencing problems.
If the problems aren't on your side come on TeamSpeak (http://www.slapgaming.com/teamspeak) and let me (or another admin) know that you're trying to log in. The admin can then teleport you away.
You can also just try logging in, in the hopes one of us sees it.

That happened to me late Sunday, froze completely relogged several times same result, but the next day I was fine. Only happened when I went on the tp pad to Xmas event. Only happened once though.

Yes, this also happened to me during the Halloween event because I had gone on the tp pad but was lagging and teleported into a nearby wall. The entire client freezes and theres nothing you can do. I had a Mod teleport me out and than everything was once more accessable. Might be the same problem, I don't know but it may be helpful if you do whst Stoux said.

I'm on right now and all it's doing is locking the program up solid. I can't even call for help or a TP or anything because Minecraft's lagged to death

i can vouch that there's been some issues with the creative area in terms of lag, logging in there for me gave some problems but i got past it eventually, and ive had some massive lags spikes there that've disconnected me. not sure why

After some flying around I'm fairly sure it's the huge stained glass creations that cause the problem. Sadly, that is something in Minecraft, so we cannot do much about it :(
