Avatar??

Hey all, just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction to customize my Minecraft Avatar? I have absolutely no clue of how to do it but by judging by the amount of people I see in the server, who have done it, *it surely cannot be that hard *famous last words lol

Also, if there's a way to make my own, please let me know

You can upload a custom skin at minecraft.net, simply login and navigate to the skin tab.

There's a ton of skins on the internet already, simply google for 'minecraft skins'.
Or customize one yourself, there are a few websites that will let you do exactly that; http://www.minershoes.com/

Need a little help lol a bit embarrassing lol
I couldn't get to grips with the Minecraft Shoes site or app so I downloaded the Skin Studio App, made a wicked Socrates Went on the MC website, uploaded it and it worked Socrates is in the game ........naked?!? For some reason the clothes (or robe) didn't come with :/ It's definitely in the pattern picture that I uploaded it with. So if anyone could tell me why this is, or better yet how to fix it I'd be very grateful and so would the humility of the ghost of the real Socrates lol

if you made it with the extra layer of clothes and such, thats not implemented till 1.8, so they wont show for now

Yeah, I remember reading something about the old style skins just mirror the legs and arms too. Gutted, spent ages doing a pukka "Socrates" ,right welshy that line was wern'it 'onkin, pmsl ;D oh well, back to the drawing board
