Civilization 5 Community?

I just bought the Civ 5 complete edition and was wondering if Slap had a community or just players in general who plays it, I'm VERY new to this style of gameplay pretty much have beat it only on Prince/Normal and was wondering if anyone can give me tips to further improve my experience and/or care for a game (preferably a team match seeing as how fresh I am). The best tip i can give would be learn what units effect what units the best etc, and nuke everything
will play sometime

We need to play a few games of beyond earth when it comes out, It looks Amazing but the space worms seem a bit OP *Starts planning on how to murder Dark_Wyvern in CBE *

definately getting my hands on beyond earth, you'll have to get online to play when that happens cats, we should be able to convince steff to buy it then!

i have beyond earth and have mixed opinions on it so far, seems similar to civ 5 in a lot of ways but mleh, i like it.

Team speak is a program that let's you go on different team speak servers (slap has a ts server) and verbally talk to the other players on that channel. So it is just another way to talk to players other than typing.
