My suggestion is to lift the ban on flint and steel.

We have the technology(world gaurd block, tnt placing that doesn't explode), it's time to put it to use, now that fire is no longer available as a block.

Im against this although there are a lot of ways to do good with it most uses are still harmfull imho.

I have seen new builders that have an online time where there is no staff and I have helped make plenty of wooden houses that can never get world guarded and I would hate to see someone's build burned down just because they never got the chance to get it world guarded.

Jace, fire doesn't burn stuff down, the houses can grieffed just as much. it's true someone could go ignite stuff everywhere... and then we got a use for the jail again.... flame prison :o?

I don't know. If I were mod, I wouldn't like the first month of fire requests. Maybe if only a few heard about it, and it gradually grew, it would be better. That initial wave though.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Gandalf here, lifting the 'ban' would be beneficial but the bad outweighs the good in this situation, I don't think it should be lifted for the simple reason of the harm it can cause to the new builders on the server and for the people who don't know how to request a world guard.

There is no harm to users that do not know how to request a world guard. Fire doesn't spread, nor does it break blocks. The only harm to them is people manually breaking blocks, which is already possible without a worldguard.

It is as harmful as any other block, sure it can be used in traps, but you do no traps are not allowed, yet people can build them. people should think twice before placing a block in the wild or on the property of another. I find water more harmful, it can enter other people's plots and spread, it can do much more grieff, the only thing it does less is damage you.
